I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
